Results of the call for the Latvian state scholarships 2022/2023

Evaluation of the Latvian state scholarships competition for studies for the academic year 2022/2023 is completed. 111 applicants from 26 countries have received the study scholarship.


The number of applications submitted for the study scholarships was 332, out of which 111 (34%) applicants have received the Latvian state scholarships.


In total the scholarship recipients represent nationals of 26 countries. The top five countries of the scholarship recipients are: Ukraine (16 recipients), Finland (11 recipients), Sweden, Germany and Azerbaijan (10 recipients from each country). The amount for one scholarship recipient per month is 700,00 EUR for PhD studies and 500,00 EUR for bachelor and master studies.


In total the scholarship recipients represent students of 16 higher education institutions. The top 3 are: Rīga Stradiņš University, University of Latvia and Riga Technical University. The biggest number of the scholarship recipients are going to study one of medicine programmes (40), the next study field is business administration and management (14) and humanities (13).   


The next call for the Latvian state scholarships will be open from 1 February to 1 April 2023. More information about the Latvian state scholarships can be found here.
