Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LLU), founded in 1939, is a centre of education, science and culture. Its mission is to develop the intellectual potential for sustainable future of Latvia and, especially, rural areas. LLU offers 62 qualitative, accredited academic and professional higher education programmes. It is the only higher educational establishment in Latvia offering the study programmes in agriculture, forestry, veterinary medicine, food science and landscape architecture. Also LLU offers studies in Engineering, Social Sciences, and Information technologies. Diplomas issued by LLU are recognised inside and outside the European Borders.
By implementing various large projects, LLU has developed significant research oriented activities, as well as projects improving material and technical basis for research and study needs. As an institution LLU pays also a significant attention to the strategic objectives to implement higher education process in close connection with research and technology transfer.
