|Study programme description||The programme corresponds to EU standards and professional requirements set for MDs. The obtained degree is in line with European labour market requirements (part of European comparative degree system) and allows free movement within Europe.
During the studies, students learn the science and methods of medicine based on human morphology (structure), functions (physiology), psychology, basic clinical practice (anamnesis, overall objective examination and interpretation of results, manipulation competence), obtains knowledge on health promotion and disease prevention in the context of family and society.
After successful completion of the programme graduates may enter residency and Doctoral studies. The programme graduates work in the field of healthcare, medical firms, governmental institutions. Graduates may also work in hospitals or health center under the supervision of a certified Doctor.

|Requirements||1.General secondary high school diploma. English language proficiency. Grades in Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Natural Sciences must be no less than 6 (almost good) in a 10 point grading system.

Accommodation possibilities and costs: The University of Latvia offers university dormitories for all international students. International students are housed in single, double or triple rooms with a common kitchen for every 5 rooms. Linen, blankets and pillows are provided as well as some kitchen utensils. The costs start at 100 EUR per month (more information here).
If you do not wish to stay at a dormitory, it is advisable to make private housing arrangements beforehand.
