|Study programme description||This programme provides an opportunity to obtain an interdisciplinary Master’s Degree in Baltic Sea region issues. It offers education in humanities and several social and environmental disciplines, focusing on the Baltic Sea region countries.
The programme is set up in cooperation with partner universities: University of Turku, University of Tartu, Vytautas Magnus University and this partnership enables student mobility within the programme.
The following modules are offered: Baltic States and Europe, Policy and Human Rights, Society and Environment, Art and Literature Studies, Cultural History and Education. Besides, students are entitled to choose one of the following languages: Latvian, Swedish, Finnish, Estonian, or Lithuanian. The graduates obtain qualification to continue their academic research in PhD studies.
The graduates of the programme will have a possibility to work in various state institutions, non-governmental and private institutions, diplomatic structures, representative offices at the international organisations, e. g. the United Nations, UNESCO, NATO, European Council, etc.

Accommodation possibilities and costs: The University of Latvia offers university dormitories for all international students. International students are housed in single, double or triple rooms with a common kitchen for every 5 rooms. Linen, blankets and pillows are provided as well as some kitchen utensils. The costs start at 100 EUR per month (more information here).
If you do not wish to stay at a dormitory, it is advisable to make private housing arrangements beforehand.
