Study programme descriptionThe aim of the programme is to train competitive media and culture managers capable of working and succeeding in contemporary European cultural space in various branches of culture. Overall, the programme develops understanding of the functioning of cultural, media and arts organisations, various mechanisms of
financing culture and their legal regulation; apart from that, it gives an insight in the current cultural processes and provides both theoretical and practical knowledge so that the programme graduates would be able to work in various branches of culture: visual arts, scenic arts, music, museums and galleries, festivals, media and cultural
policy. Studies are organised as lectures, seminars and project work. Main subjects include: The Management of Media, Brand and Communication, Modern Trends in Culture, Media and Management, Cultural Policy in Latvia and Europe, Diplomatic Protocol and International Etiquette, Culture Management, Music industry - Copyright and Contract Law etc.

Students can work in a wide range of culture-related areas: visual arts, performing arts, music, museums and galleries, festivals, media, cultural, publishing industries etc.
