|Study programme description||The aim of the study programme is to support the development of computing industry by preparing highly skilled, export-capable employees for practical work in private companies and public institutions and by providing the computing industry with academically educated specialists and researchers. The programme is designed according to recommendations of the ACM/ IEEE Computing Curricula and is awarded the Euro-Inf Quality Label.
Studies are organised in the form of lectures, practical classes, laboratory works, seminars, project works and full-time internship (four months).
Main study courses offered include six sub-programmes: Computer science, Information technologies, Software engineering, Computer engineering, Information systems, Computing didactics. Students in this programme acquire knowledge in the field of computing, in mathematics and in the selected study direction; skills necessary for the designing and development of complicated applications and information systems; initial skills in scientific research work.
The graduates of this programme are usually employed in international and local IT companies, start-ups, state, non-governmental and private organisations.

|Requirements||General secondary high school diploma; English language proficiency. Grades in Mathematics must be no less than 4 in a 10 point grading system.

Accommodation possibilities and costs: The University of Latvia offers university dormitories for all international students. International students are housed in single, double or triple rooms with a common kitchen for every 5 rooms. Linen, blankets and pillows are provided as well as some kitchen utensils. The costs start at 100 EUR per month (more information here).
If you do not wish to stay at a dormitory, it is advisable to make private housing arrangements beforehand.
