|Study programme description||The goal is to prepare highly qualified specialists who would set forth and independently solve major
problems of the contemporary physics and able to contribute to the social and economic prosperity.
The main objectives: to acquire profound knowledge and methods of modern research and data processing in the chosen branch of physics, to carry out independent research work, to practise in supervising research and academic work at higher education establishments, to get familiarized with strategies and ways of commercialisation of advanced technologies and innovations, to take active part in scientific activities, to provide conditions for preparing and defending the promotion thesis.

|Requirements||Master’s degree in Physics or adjoining scientific discipline (Biophysics, Physical Chemistry, etc.), Engineering, as well as another qualification in the above-mentioned scientific disciplines equivalent to the Master’s degree;

Daugavpils University (DU) was founded in 1921 and today is the biggest regional state university and the only university in Eatern-Latvia. DU has five faculties: the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the Faculty of Music and Art and the Faculty of Education and Management.
