Study arrangements		International students study in English according to an individual plan. Latvian language courses are not foreseen in the framework of doctoral studies; however, DU Foreign Language Centre offers Latvian or other language courses.

Study programme description		The aim of Doctor’s degree programme in psychology is to prepare highly qualified scientists and academicians in the sphere of theoretical and applied psychology. The results of studies obtained during Doctoral study programme are as follows: knowledge relevant to researcher’s area, developing own concept about psychology science in general; skills necessary in the research activity; attitude, based on researcher‘s interest and professional competence, emerged in the process of studies.

Daugavpils University (DU) was founded in 1921 and today is the biggest regional state university and the only university in Eatern-Latvia. DU has five faculties: the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the Faculty of Music and Art and the Faculty of Education and Management.
